Phrasal Verb: do, doze, dress, drive

do away with something means discard (e.g. It’s time to do away with all of these old tax records.)
do somebody/ something over means beat up, ransack (e.g. He’s lucky to be alive. His shop was done over by a street gang.)
do something over means do again (e.g. My teacher wants me to do my essay over because she doesn’t like my topic.)
do up a building, a room etc. means repair and improve it (e.g. The kitchen looks great now that it has been done up)
do up a coat, a shoelace, buttons etc. means fasten, tie etc. (e.g. It’s quite cold. Do up you coat before you go out)
doze off/ drop off/ nod off means fall asleep (e.g. The lecture wasn’t very interesting. In fact, I dropped off in the middle of it)

dress up means wear nice clothing (e.g. It’s a fancy restaurant so we have to dress up.)
drive off (e.g. A woman got into the car and drove off.)
drive on/ walk on/ play on (e.g. Shall we stop at this petrol station or shall we drive on to the next one?)
