As if/ as though/ like

G. We also use as if to make comparisons. The verb after as if is always in the past subjunctive. If the verb be directly follows as if, we use were for all personal pronouns. (e.g. He boarded the airplane as if he were a seasoned traveller.)
a. can use as if or as though to say how somebody or something looks/ sounds/ feels. (e.g. That house looks as if it’s going to fall down. And that house looks like it’s going to fall down)
b. can say It looks as if ~ / It sounds as if ~ (e.g. Do you hear that music next door? It sounds as if they are having a party.)
c. use as though or like. (e.g. It looks as though she isn’t coming. or It looks like she isn’t coming.)
d. can use as if or as though with other verbs to say how somebody does something. (e.g. He ran as if he was running for his life.)
