In spite of/ despite/ Although/ though/ event

C. In spite of, despite and although are all used to show a contrast but there are differences in the structures used with them.
C1. After ‘in spite of’ or ‘despite’, we use a noun, a pronoun (this/ that/ what etc.) or ~ing.
C2. Can say ‘in spite of the fact (that) ~‘ and ‘despite the fact (that) ~

D. After ‘although’ we use a subject + verb
D1. I couldn’t sleep although I was very tired. (= despite being very tired. (not despite I was tired))
D2. Sometime we use though instead of although. In spoken English we often use though at the end of a sentence.
D3. Even though is a stronger form of although. Like although, even though is followed by a subject and a verb.
